Katherine Billiot, PsyD - Treasurer (unopposed): I am a licensed clinical psychologist with training in neuropsychology, psychological evaluation, biofeedback, and neurofeedback. I graduated from the Florida Institute of Technology doctoral program in clinical psychology and am BCIA Board Certified in Biofeedback and Neurofeedback. I performed my internship on active duty in the US Navy, after which I served in the Mental Health Department and Substance Abuse Rehabilitation Program in Yokosuka, Japan, supporting the 7th Fleet and shore based commands. I am currently in full time private practice and the Director of the Medical Psychology Center in Ormond Beach. I have enjoyed serving as BSF Treasurer this past year and look forward to continuing in that capacity. BSF is a unique organization that provides an important service to its members, consumers, and the field
Ronald Rosenthal, PhD - Secretary (unopposed): I am a psychologist and BCIA Board Certified biofeedback provider in Miami, Florida. I earned a doctorate in experimental psychology from New York University and did post-doctoral work with Professor Neal Miller. I completed a retraining program in clinical psychology at the University of Miami and have been in private practice since 1992. I have dedicated my professional work to expanding the field of biofeedback and psychophysiology, serving on the boards of BSF, AAPB, and as program chair for two national meetings. I contributed a chapter to a 2012 book of biofeedback case studies and co-authored two chapters in the 2015 revision of the Biofeedback Practitioner’s Guide. Serving again as BSF Secretary will allow me to make a meaningful contribution to the important work of the Society.
Doil Montgomery, PhD - Board Member-at-Large (incumbent): I have been a licensed Psychologists in Florida since 1975 and have served on the BSF Board for over 35 years. I have been a graduate faculty member for over 25 years, was in full time group practice for 8 years , and I am semiretired for over 10 years. If elected I will continue my efforts to bring the best people in the field to Florida to present their knowledge and work to maintain the State Society as one of the best in our field.
Mike Rothburd, PhD - Board Member-at-Large (incumbent): I have been a Board member or officer of the Biofeedback Society of Florida, Inc. since the misty past prior to its legal inception in the 1970's. I am a licensed psychologist in independent practice with an abiding interest in the technical aspects of applied psychophysiology and the equipment employed in its monitoring. As technical standards chair of the BSF Board (possibly for the past 30 years), I've attempted to identify and evaluate new and unique monitoring systems and provide the Board and general membership with recommendations and caveats. Should you chose to re-elect me to the Board of Directors, I will, with the President's direction, continue to provide current technical standards data to the board and general membership.
George Rozelle, PhD - Board Member-at-Large (incumbent): My service as a BSF Board Member has been very gratifying and I am honored to have been nominated for another term. I am currently the Executive Director of MindSpa Integrative Wellness Center in Sarasota, Florida and have been an active member of BSF, AAPB, and ISNR since entering the field in 1990. I have presented at numerous professional meetings on varied topics including combined peripheral and EEG interventions, neurofeedback treatment for stroke, traumatic brain injury, QEEG, and peak performance training. It is gratifying to support BSF’s efforts on behalf of the field in Florida.
S. Curtis Takagishi, PhD - Board Member-at-Large: I am honored to be considered for the office of Board Member-at-Large for the Biofeedback Society of Florida. Presently, I am a licensed, clinical psychologist working in the pain management program at the James A. Haley Veteran’s Hospital in Tampa, FL. I employ biofeedback in this setting mostly with patients who are reporting headaches, and I also have a small private practice. I graduated from Fordham University in New York City where I developed an interest in health psychology. After moving to Florida, I worked in a variety of settings, including being on staff at Tampa General Hospital, and began pursuing training in biofeedback. BSF has exposed me to a wide variety of topics within the field, and I have benefitted greatly from my interactions with my fellow colleagues. I am very grateful to the BSF, and I would like to thank those who sponsored my nomination. I am looking forward to a bright future for our organization.
